A power outage blacked out 11,000 Southern California Edison Co. customers in the Mission Viejo area for about 20 minutes Wednesday morning, a spokesman for the utility said.
SCE crews were investigating the cause of the blackout, which was linked to a failure at an SCE substation, said SCE spokesman Gene Carter.
He identified the affected area as reaching north of Trabuco Road and south of Paseo de Valencia, west of El Toro Road and east of Alicia Parkway.
“There are a lot of businesses through there,” Carter said. “Fortunately, we had all customers up within 20 minutes.”
Carter said the blackout began at 11:29 a.m. and power was restored at 11:49 a.m.
