A Greyhound bus plunged off a highway over a river after hitting a rockslide, killing at least six passengers and injuring 14, authorities said. The bus, which was traveling from Denver to Albuquerque, went off New Mexico 68, near the point where the Rio Embudo feeds into the Rio Grande, about 50 miles north of Santa Fe, State Police spokeswoman Lupita Carrion said in Santa Fe. Espanola Hospital administrator Grant Nelson said he had been told there were six to eight fatalities. “The bus hit a rockslide,” Carrion said. The front of the bus was torn away and some of the passengers may have been thrown out of the bus, she said. “They did request search and rescue for . . . a river search,” she said, indicating that bodies may have gone into the river and may have washed into the Rio Grande.
