Prep Football : Brown Runs for 221 Yards in Friar Win

Senior tailback Derek Brown scored 3 touchdowns and gained 221 yards in 17 carries to lead Servite High School to a 46-0 victory over Marina Friday night in front of 2,100 at Westminster High School.
Brown had 179 yards in 12 carries in the first half and saw only limited action in the second half. He scored on a 41-yard run in the first quarter and had two 31-yard touchdown runs in the second.
Servite (2-0) finished with 359 total yards, all on the ground. The Friars had 19 rushing first downs and scored on seven of their 10 possessions.
Marina (0-2) had trouble moving the ball, with only 25 yards on the ground and 27 through the air. Tailback Stacy Kagasoff led the Vikings with 24 yards in 9 carries. He also caught 3 passes for 12 yards.
Servite defensive back Oscar Ford intercepted two passes and, in the first quarter, he returned a punt 76 yards for a touchdown. He had a 72-yard punt return for a touchdown called back in the final period.
Fullback Garrett Greedy scored on a 13-yard run in the third quarter. James Jones (28-yard run) and Kent Weiss (1-yard run) scored fourth-quarter touchdowns.
