High School Football : Fast Start Lifts Burbank to 20-3 Win Over Bell-Jeff

Burbank running back William Charles ran 65 yards for a touchdown on his team’s first play from scrimmage Saturday night and the Bulldogs rolled to a 20-3 nonleague victory over Bell-Jeff at Burroughs High.
Bell-Jeff’s Mike Lattanzio kicked a 30-yard field goal with 3:53 to play in the first quarter, cutting the lead to 7-3, but Burbank quarterback Anthony Valento hit receiver Jim Cafferty with a 13-yard touchdown pass with 24 seconds to go in the first half for a 14-3 intermission edge.
