NEW YORK — New York Mets left-handed pitcher Bob Ojeda almost completely severed the upper portion of his left index finger with an electric hedge clipper in a household accident this morning, the club said.
The Mets said Ojeda underwent microsurgery at Roosevelt Hospital. Ojeda, who missed most of last season after elbow surgery, was 10-13 for the Mets this season with a 2.88 earned-run average.
