Television View of Young Blacks

Taylor’s column confirmed my own impressions of a discouraging situation. There is much that can be done by blacks themselves, however, to correct the erroneous impression given by this medium. We can have an impact by not “buying into” the image that is presented and by working to correct it.
Only then can we hope to see images of menacing young gangsters replaced by those of mainstream black families who “work, worship and play together” on our television screens.
