L.A. Gear’s profit increased nearly fourfold to $8.7 million in the third quarter from $2.2 million a year ago. The Los Angeles-based footwear maker credited the strong performance to increased demand for its shoes, including its new men’s line. Revenue rose to $76.1 million from $24.6 million a year ago.
