‘Smokescreen:’ Proposition 99

While I tend to agree with your criticism of the commercials from the anti-Proposition 99 forces, I think there is a more salient point that is being missed.
This is a selective excise tax which is visibly punitive and discriminatory. This will be a punishment for not breaking the law. This will be a majority forcing a viewpoint upon a minority.
What comes next? How long will it be before bigots get into the initiative business?
I find this to be a dangerous precedent.
