Electronic Data Systems Corp. said it won a contract valued at more than half a billion dollars to provide management services for the New Jersey Automobile Full Insurance Underwriting Assn. The four-year contract, which could be extended, calls for Dallas-based EDS to create an automobile insurance administrative operation in Mt. Laurel, N.J.; issue policies and process claims; train insurance agents; submit statistical and management reports, and provide billing and collection service. The New Jersey JUA, which provides insurance for drivers unable to receive coverage through private insurers, serves about 50% of the state’s drivers through 1.5 million policies.
