Local News in Brief : Motorcyclist Dies in Plunge From Freeway

Amotorcyclist on the Ventura Freeway in Burbank was killed early Monday after he lost control, plunged down an embankment and into a tree, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The 42-year-old Silver Lake man, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, was westbound near the Forest Lawn Drive exit when he lost control about 1:25 a.m., officials said.
He was dead at the scene. CHP officials said there were no known witnesses, and it was unclear why the man lost control of the motorcycle.
