Santa Monica : Group Gets $220,000 Grant

The Secretary of Labor has awarded a $220,000 grant to Step Up On Second, a nonprofit organization serving mentally disabled adults on the Westside, for a demonstration job-training project for the homeless.
The grant was financed under the McKinney Homeless Assistance Act of 1987, the first comprehensive federal law to address homelessness. It will help homeless, mentally ill people find work and will provide support for their reentry into the community.
Step Up On Second is located at 1328 2nd St.
