A college student who gave birth in her dormitory in Nashville and is accused of tossing the infant down a garbage chute was charged Monday with first-degree murder. Barbara Trapp, 23, a junior at Tennessee State University, was being held without bond, police said. The infant boy was found Nov. 6 by campus police. The infant was in critical condition for six days at Vanderbilt University Medical Center before dying, the autopsy showed, from a blow to the head.
