Notre Dame Players Will Be Inoculated

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The entire Notre Dame football team will receive vaccinations against measles and influenza before it travels to California to play USC next Saturday, Coach Lou Holtz said Saturday.
“We will be inoculated on Monday,” Holtz said. “I haven’t told them yet, because they do not like needles and I did not want to spoil their weekend.
“The good news is coaches over 40 don’t need them. That’s why I approved the shots. I hate a needle.”
Dr. George Plain, the St. Joseph County health officer, said his office would offer measles vaccinations to Notre Dame fans planning to travel to the game at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
