A sixth suspect, another juvenile, was arrested in Los Angeles on Tuesday in connection with the racist spray-painting of a San Carlos synagogue Nov. 13.
Last week, five 16-year-olds were arrested by San Diego police and booked on suspicion of felony vandalism of a place of worship. They allegedly desecrated the Tifereth Israel Synagogue on Cowles Mountain Boulevard, painting it with swastikas, anti-Semitic graffiti and sayings from the Book of Revelations.
All six of the minors arrested are said to conform to the “Skinhead” look, meaning their heads are shaved or the hair is cut close to the scalp. Skinheads are said to be neo-Nazis suspected of anti-Semitic vandalism throughout the country.
Three of the students arrested, all girls, attend University of San Diego High School. They have been suspended from school.
Two boys arrested attend Mark Twain Junior-Senior High School near USD High. The boys are still attending classes.
San Diego police Tuesday had no age or sex for the sixth suspect, who was apprehended at 12:30 p.m. by Los Angeles police. San Diego police also said they did not know why the suspect was in Los Angeles.
The six have been released to their parents pending charges in Juvenile Court.
