Funeral Service Set for 1st Northridge A.D.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Pierce Brothers’ Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village for Glenn Arnett, Cal State Northridge’s first athletic director, who died in Thousand Oaks on Monday after a lengthy illness. He was 76.

Arnett began his 20-year association with CS Northridge in 1958--the school’s founding year--and during his tenure was responsible for securing the university’s membership in the California Collegiate Athletic Assn.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi; sons Tim, Bill and Greg, and eight grandchildren.
