Gorgeous, ridden by Eddie Delahoussaye, scored her second victory in three career starts Wednesday, beating My Glamorous One, with Chris McCarron aboard, by three-quarters of a length in the $80,200 Santa Ysabel Stakes at Santa Anita.
April Mon, ridden by Gary Stevens, finished third, another four lengths back, in the 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-old fillies.
Delahoussaye kept Gorgeous along the inside, and the filly set the pace most of the way, then held off My Glamorous One in the stretch drive.
The 8-5 wagering favorite of the crowd of 21,488, General Charge, never threatened and finished fourth in the six-horse field, 12 lengths behind of the winner.
Gorgeous, who carried 116 pounds and was clocked in 1:42 2/5, paid $9.20, $5.40 and $3.40. My Glamorous One, carrying 117, returned $8 and $4.60. April Mon, 114, paid $4.60 to show.
Trained by Neil Drysdale, the daughter of Slew O’ Gold earned $46,450 for owner Robert N. Clay.
