Local News in Brief : Woodland Hills Crash Kills Car Passenger

Apassenger was killed and two motorists injured Thursday in Woodland Hills when a car made a turn in the rain and was struck by an oncoming Jeep, Los Angeles police said.
Police said Pamela Jean Rowe, 38, of Lakewood, was killed about 8 a.m. when the car in which she was riding collided with a Jeep at the intersection of Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Erwin Street.
The driver, Julie Mansfield, 24, of Azusa, suffered cuts and bruises, police said. The driver of the Jeep, Charles Selover, 24, of Camarillo, also was slightly injured.
Police said Mansfield was driving south on Topanga Canyon Boulevard and attempted to turn left onto Erwin Street as the traffic light turned yellow. The Jeep was northbound and entered the intersection on the yellow light and collided with the car.
Rowe died at the scene. Mansfield was taken to Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Woodland Hills where she was in stable condition, officials said. Selover was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Police said no once was cited in the accident, and an investigation is continuing.
