DALLAS — British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher became a grandmother this week with the birth of a boy to her daughter-in-law.
Diane Thatcher, 28, wife of Mark Thatcher, the prime minister’s 35-year-old son, had a normal delivery without complications Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, hospital spokeswoman Ginger Seay said today. The healthy 7-pound, 2-ounce baby, named Michael, and mother were released from the hospital Thursday, she said.
An official at the British Embassy in Washington said “none of us here know of any plans for a visit” anytime soon by the prime minister. “If there were definite plans, we’d know.”
