College Roundup : UCI Tops West Virginia in Tennis

Trevor Kronemann defeated Paul Mancini in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-3, to lead the UC Irvine men’s tennis team to a 7-2 nonconference victory over West Virginia Monday at the Mesa Verde Country Club in Costa Mesa.
Kronemann (16-10 in singles) also teamed with Shige Kanroji in doubles to defeat Joby Foley and Frick Jacob, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.
In nonconference volleyball:
UC Irvine 3, Navy 0--Steve Florentine and David Pettker each had 11 kills to lead Irvine (5-16) to a 15-12, 15-11, 15-7 victory at home. Navy is 8-11.
In a Big West Conference softball doubleheader:
Cal State Fullerton 2-3, Hawaii 0-0--First baseman Missy Coombes went three for six with three RBIs and a home run to lead Fullerton to a sweep (10-3, 2-0) at home.
