Santa Monica : Levine Appointed Whip

Rep. Mel Levine (D-Santa Monica) has been appointed at-large majority whip by the Democratic leadership of the House of Representatives.
The whips serve on task forces that write alternative amendments, inform the leadership of its members’ priorities and contribute legislative initiatives and policies.
Levine served as the regional whip for Southern California from 1984 until 1988. His appointment as at-large majority whip expires in 1990.
