Argentina Reports Clash at Army Base

BUENOS AIRES — Unidentified gunmen opened fire late Thursday on an army base on the outskirts of Buenos Aires and fled when soldiers returned fire, an Argentine army communique said Friday.
Nearly 300 police and army officers scoured the area around the Ciudadela anti-aircraft artillery unit but found no trace of the five to eight gunmen who fired on a guard post shortly before midnight, the communique said. No one was reported injured in the exchange.
