Robert J. Wert, 66, has retired as a director of Clorox Co., Oakland, after more than 16 years on the board. During the mid-1970s, he chaired the board’s public policy committee and guided the company’s efforts to establish the Clorox Co. Foundation. Wert is president emeritus of Mills College in Oakland and is the former vice provost and dean of undergraduate education at Stanford University.
