UC Riverside Men Take Third in Division II

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Chris Ceballos scored 24 points as third-ranked UC Riverside beat fourth-ranked Jacksonville (Ala.) State, 90-81, Saturday for third place in the NCAA Division II basketball tournament.
Riverside, which finished its season 29-5, set a tournament record with 43 three-point shots. The previous record was 33 set in 1987 by Kentucky Wesleyan. Jacksonville State finished 27-6.
Antoine Sifford had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead 13th-ranked North Carolina Central (28-4) over Southeast Missouri, 73-46, in the championship game. Southeast Missouri, ranked No. 8, finished 27-6.
