2,252 Cases of AIDS Reported in Mexico

MEXICO CITY — Mexico currently has 2,252 cases of AIDS and the number of people infected with the disease is now rising by 10% every month, a Mexican expert on the virus says.
Dr. Guillermo Soberon, former health secretary, called the rate “alarming” and said this places Mexico in fourth place in Latin America and 10th place worldwide among countries where acquired immune deficiency syndrome is most prevalent.
