Ropak Corp., Fullerton, said it expects to report a 50% decline in net income for the first quarter, compared with the year-earlier amount of $440,000 on revenue of $17.4 million. William H. Roper, chairman and chief executive officer, attributed the decrease to a new round of price competition in the plastic container industry. Ropak stock closed at $9 Monday in over-the-counter trading, down $1.125 for the day. Ropak is a maker of plastic packaging and handling products for foods, coatings and a variety of agricultural and industrial materials.
