NCAA investigators doubt Bob Wade’s claim that he was ignorant of recruiting violations at the school, telling members of his staff that the Maryland basketball coach knew about transportation for former guard Rudy Archer, The Sun said.

The NCAA investigators said they discounted the stories of at least two members of Wade’s staff who had backed Wade’s contention he was unaware of any rides for Archer, who was then attending Prince George’s Community College, the Sun reported.
