In Mike Boehm’s review of Depeche Mode’s concert album “101” (“Concert Souvenir From Depeche Mode,” Calendar April 16), he states that the joke is on the fans. In fact, there is no joke, only the ignorance of Mike Boehm.
He says fans who have the studio versions of these songs need not bother buying “101.” In fact, a true Depeche Mode fan would know the studio versions and concert versions are different.
Anyway, what business is it of his if fans are willing to buy “101”? It just goes to show how great the musicians really are. I might add that Depeche Mode filled the Rose Bowl with about 70,000 fans. Not too many bands can do what they did.
