La Mirada Kiwanis Plan Tribute for Slain Football Player

The La Mirada Kiwanis Club has planned a tribute for slain Glenn High School football player Juan Enriquez in conjunction with the 605 All-Star Football Game.
“We’re going to set up a scholarship fund in Juan’s name,” said Peter Dames, executive director of the game that will be played June 30 at 7:30 p.m. at La Mirada High Stadium. “We intend to make the fund a perpetual one in his honor.”
Enriquez, the victim of a drive-by shooting in Norwalk last month, had been selected to play on the East team. He was an all-Suburban League lineman and the Southern Section 1-A wrestling champion.
Whittier Christian’s Phil Bravo, the East coach, said his team is dedicating the game to Enriquez and that a place in the pregame warm-up lines will be left open.
