Chamber Sets Pageant Deadline

The Lawndale Chamber of Commerce has set an Aug. 15 deadline for applications for the Miss Centinela Valley Scholarship Pageant.
The contest is open to South Bay women who are 17 to 26, high school graduates and never married.
The 1989 Miss Centinela Valley, Wendy Berry, was named this year’s Miss California.
The 1990 Miss Centinela Valley will receive a $1,500 scholarship and be eligible for the Miss California competition. The Miss California winner will compete in the Miss America contest.
The first runner-up in the Miss Centinela Valley competition will receive an $800 scholarship, and the second runner-up, a $500 scholarship.
Applications may be submitted to the Lawndale Chamber of Commerce, 14704 Hawthorne Blvd., Lawndale 90260.
