Reserve cornerback Alan Stewart has been suspended for Florida State’s season opener because he broke NCAA regulations by posing for a calendar, school officials said.

The rules say athletes can’t appear in publications sold for commercial purposes. Stewart, a senior who had two blocked kicks last season, posed shirtless in a pair of jeans as he leaned against a rail on a beach. He said he just wanted to get a head start on a possible modeling career but was not paid.
