The NCAA has concluded that Wisconsin football Coach Don Morton violated one of its policies when he paid part of his assistants’ salaries last summer, a Wisconsin Athletic Board member said.
Ted Finman, the Athletic Board’s representative to the NCAA, said that he received an interpretation regarding Morton’s actions from the NCAA Legislation and Interpretations Committee.
Morton acknowledged last week that he took out a loan to pay nine assistant coaches a total of $14,100 in August to make up for salary cuts ordered by the Athletic Board.
