One man was killed and a 17-year-old youth was critically wounded in a shooting outside a Pacoima apartment at a corner known as a gang hangout, authorities said Tuesday. No arrests were made.
Timothy Walls, 20, of Pacoima was found dead in a courtyard of the complex at Van Nuys Boulevard and Borden Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Monday, Lt. Bernard D. Conine said. Walls had been shot in the upper torso, he said.
Another victim, a 17-year-old Pacoima youth whose name was withheld, was found lying in a parking lot behind the complex with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso, Conine said. The youth was in critical condition at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, he said.
Conine said the shooting appeared to be gang-related and both victims were believed to be members of the same gang. But detectives had not determined a motive for the shooting, he said.
