A car struck and killed a man and woman as they crossed Sierra Highway in Acton Monday evening, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The couple apparently did not see the car as they walked from a restaurant to their motor home parked across the street, Officer Henry Ross said. The motor home had Oregon license plates.
The victims, whose names were not immediately available, were described as being about 60 years old. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the 7:25 p.m. accident. The man was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center, where he died a short time later. The driver of the car, Robert Wuillamey, 28, of Lancaster was not cited, Ross said.
