Tandon Corp., a troubled Moorpark personal computer manufacturer, said it plans to lay off 60 workers at its headquarters Jan. 12 as part of its continuing reduction of domestic operations. Tandon, which has laid off 240 workers this year, will be left with 300 employees in the United States and 400 in Europe.
Company spokesman Mike Sanders said Tandon will continue to focus its efforts on Europe, which accounted for 88% of its sales during the first nine months of 1989. During the same period, Tandon lost $9.6 million on revenues of $274.2 million.
