WHERE WAS GARFIELD?

In your review of “Real Life Drama: The Group Theater and America, 1931-1940” by Wendy Smith (Dec. 9), in the list given of notable actors, why was the name John Garfield omitted?

I saw him here in Los Angeles at what was once the Las Palmas theater, in a great performance of “Awake and Sing.”
