COUNTYWIDE : Man Found Dead Behind Liquor Store

The body of a 51-year-old man who had apparently been living on the streets since leaving his Santa Paula home was discovered behind a Ventura liquor store Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Theodore Burt Sr. was found dead about 7 a.m. behind Avenue Liquor Store at 580 N. Ventura Ave. when a homeless friend tried to awaken him, Ventura County Coroner’s Investigator Mitch Breese said.
Burt’s cause of death is unknown pending results of tests, including toxicology reports, Breese said. However, Breese said that investigators found no signs of trauma or injury and that he believed Burt died of natural causes.
