OXNARD : Baby Dinosaur to Crack Its Shell
- Share via
A huge mechanical baby triceratops will emerge from its egg today in the Dinosaurs Alive! exhibit organized by Oxnard’s Gull Wings Children’s Museum.
Several mechanical dinosaurs, half the size of the extinct beasts, roar and move in a diorama display, a museum spokeswoman said. Created by a company called Dinamation, the creatures have lifelike rubbery skin, she said.
The winner of a contest to name the dinosaur baby will be announced during the birth celebration, which begins at 12:45 p.m.
Admission is $5, $4 for seniors, and $3 for children.
The exhibit is housed at the North Court Executive Center in the Oxnard Town Center while the children’s museum is being renovated.
