Linda Marie Huesman Lamb; Heart Transplant Recipient

Linda Marie Huesman Lamb, 29, who with her brother became the nation’s first brother-and-sister heart transplant recipients. Mrs. Lamb was found in June, 1980, to be suffering from cardiomyopathy, or deterioration of the heart muscle, which was the same condition her brother suffered. She received her heart transplant in October, 1983, more than five years after his. Both were performed at Stanford University Medical Center. He is among her survivors. On Monday in San Mateo, Calif., of what is believed to be rejection of her new heart.
