Takin On The Cash Gets No. 4

Takin On The Cash, national champion 2-year-old colt in 1990, drew the No. 4 post in the $136,000 El Primero Del Ano Derby for quarter horses Saturday night at Los Alamitos. The Dash For Cash colt, trained by Henry Dominguez, posted the fasted time of 10 qualifiers on Jan. 12.
The field, in order of post position, with jockeys in parentheses: Little Doc Mason (Eddie Garcia), Galla Go Special (Danny Cardoza), Blisterin (Bruce Pilkenton), Takin On The Cash (Kip Didericksen), Elmer T. Jones (Henry Garcia), Raise Toperfection (Roman Figueroa), Shawnes Diamond (Steve Treasure), Kid O Dash (John Creager), Streakinthenineties (Jerry Yoakum) and Twaynas Rebelrocket (James Lackey). All will carry 122 pounds in the 400-yard race.
