Reader Would Like a Colorblind Society

There seems to be confusion about capitalization when writing about “Black” and “white” people.
“White” is a term adopted by a society to distinguish itself from all people of color. It refers to the color of the skin.
“Black,” on the other hand, refers to a race of people whose roots began in Africa. “Black” is the same as African American. Since the Black population comes in all shades and colors, “Black” does not refer to skin color, but to race.
