The former head of a Burbank firm that sold components for the Patriot missile was sentenced today to two years in prison for defrauding the government of $500,000 in connection with the weapons system.
U.S. District Court Judge Ronald Lew imposed the sentence on Michael Zarachoff, 45, former president of Temcom, which supplied the Department of Defense with temperature transducers for the Patriot in 1983.
Lew also sentenced Zarachoff’s girlfriend, Nanci Plath, to five years probation for helping him perpetrate the scheme.
