Dow Chemical Co.: The Midland, Mich., firm said its fourth-quarter net income dropped 36% to $273 million, compared to the year-ago period. Sales rose 21% to $5.1 billion. Full-year net income sagged 45% to $1.4 billion. The chemicals company cited the recession and soaring energy costs.
