Mallon, hitting approach shots within six feet on the 17th and 18th greens at the par-72 Wycliffe Golf and Country Club, carded a 71 for a two-stroke victory over rookie Dana Lofland. Mallon finished 12 under par at 276.
Lofland shot 70 while defending champion Pat Bradley, former champion Dottie Mochrie and Betsy King struggled at the end.
Tied for third at 280 were Tammie Green and Laurel Kean. Both matched par.
