California IN BRIEF : FRESNO : Cigarette Blamed for Cabaret Fire

A cigarette discarded in a trash can may have ignited a fire in the storage and dressing rooms at a popular Fresno cabaret, fire officials said. The main dining and entertainment area of Roger Rocka’s Music Hall wee not damaged, but the blaze destroyed some costumes and wigs, which employees hope to replace before Wednesday evening’s next scheduled performance of “Into the Woods” by the Good Company Players. Firefighters estimated damage at $60,000.
