Long Beach Women Beat UCI in Basketball

LONG BEACH — Vjera Kaludjerovich scored 18 points as Cal State Long Beach defeated UC Irvine, 74-42, in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game in front of 756 Monday night.
The victory moves Long Beach (14-7, 9-3 in conference) into a first-place tie with Nevada Las Vegas. Irvine falls to 5-18, 3-11.
Dane Wilerson had 13 points and Kari Parriott added 12 for Long Beach, which led, 36-22, at the half. Long Beach shot 40% from the field (29 of 73) but outrebounded the Anteaters, 46-31.
