The Sidelines : Bullets Activate John Williams

LANDOVER, Md. — The Washington Bullets today activated forward John Williams off the suspended list, clearing him to play for the first time since he tore knee ligaments on Dec. 2, 1989.
Williams was expected to be in uniform for tonight’s game in San Antonio.
Williams missed Washington’s final 64 games last season after tearing the medial collateral ligament and partially tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in a game against Utah. At the time, he was second on the team in scoring, rebounds and assists.
After rehabilitating the knee for a portion of the off-season, Williams held out through training camp. He returned to the Bullets on Nov. 1, well over his playing weight of 260 pounds. He was put on the suspended list on Nov. 15 while he continued to work his knee and body into playing shape.
