UCLA Fellowships for AIDS Research

UCLA’s schools of medicine and public health have received post-doctoral fellowships in AIDS research from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
The two fellowships are among 60 that are being given to ensure an adequate pool of trained biomedical scientists and clinical investigators involved in acquired immune deficiency syndrome research, a UCLA spokesman said.
The national program is distributing more than $2 million for the first year to 14 institutions. Support will continue for up to five years.
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is the principal institute for research related to HIV infection and AIDS among the National Institutes of Health.
