South Pasadena : New Police Chief
A former Culver City police captain today is scheduled to become chief of the Police Department, which last fall became embroiled in controversy after a raid on a noisy drinking party involving the adult children of prominent community leaders.
Thomas Mahoney, 43, replaces department veteran William Reese, who retired soon after a local brouhaha erupted as a result of the Sept. 14 party on Stratford Avenue.
Mahoney will earn an annual salary of $66,480 in his new job. He is a resident of West Covina.
