COUNTYWIDE : Salary Schedule OKd for County Workers

A new salary schedule for more than 300 county employees, including probation officers, harbor patrol officers and park rangers, was approved by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors.
Under an agreement with the Ventura County Professional Peace Officers Assn., raises over the next 14 months will add up to 17.5% for some officers at the top of their salary ranges.
The salary schedule is retroactive to Dec. 9, 1990, and is effective until Dec. 5, 1992.
The annual salary of a senior deputy probation officer at the top salary range will increase from $36,936 to $42,394 by April, 1992, under the agreement.
For a correctional service officer at the top salary range, pay will increase from $30,804 a year to $34,153.
In contrast, the lowest ranking park rangers at the top salary range earn $18,588 and will have an annual salary increase of about $1,000 under the new agreement.
