The New Jersey Devils fired Coach John Cunniff and brought back former coach Tom McVie. McVie, 55, coached the Devils in 1983-84 and went 15-38-7 before being replaced by Doug Carpenter the next season. McVie has coached the Devils’ Utica farm team in the American Hockey League the last four seasons.
